How is Google changing for the average user?
I think that we are investing now not just in search, but in the platforms that can actually bring the content that you find to people more efficiently, more attractively and with greater availablity.
If you can't, for example, look at the search results on your cellphone reasonably because the browser is not capable enough, or the application sophistication is not good enough. Then we can't really deliver you that information, when you are using your phone. But Android has allowed us to bridge that gap. It has a really good browser, and have it broadly available because it is open source.
Many, many handset makers can now put that now put that on their handsets. And now when our users without their phone, I have an android phone in my pocket, older than the ones they were giving out here. I'm a little bit jealous. But now when they do that, we can present them search results that they can go ahead and access news because their phone software is powerful and it is just that.
Tell us about cloud computing.
Being a business ourselves, being able to use the cloud that really change how we work. Being able to rely, you know when you go to one office to another, you dont necessaryliy have your specific computer with you.You will still be able to get your information and you will be able to share with your colleagues, or eigher down the hall or around the world. To be able to not worry that your computer harddrive crashed.Oh I am travelling, what am I going to do. My information is always safe in the cloud. It reallys changes what you can do.
What's the secret behind Google's success?
We have been as a company obviously more lucky than any company deserves to be. But I think some of the core values that really help us get there is focusing on the end-user's experience. And we've been fortunate enough that when we were able to improve some aspects of people's lives, that we believe we will be able to make a solid business out of that.I think we will done that with search. I think as we seeing here today with wave, really rethinks how communication works. And I think if we are able to change how people communicate, then people will be better off and we will be better off as a company.
